Alumni Spotlight – Kido Clark-Riggs

Kido Clark-Riggs (AA Social Science, 1997) is originally from Botswana in Southern Africa. She first attended college at Molepolole College of Education in Botswana, Africa, and taught Middle School afterwards. Kido moved to the United States in January 1992, and settled in Riverton, Wyoming. She attended Central Wyoming College, and transferred to the University of Wyoming where she graduated with a Bachelors of Social Work Degree. Kido worked as a school teacher and as a career counselor at St. Stephen’s Indian School, in the Wind River Reservation.

Kido’s two children (Kara and Roger) were born in Riverton. Kido briefly moved back to Botswana for two years, and worked for the Center for Disease Control/Outreach Mission program as an HIV/AIDS Counselor.

In 2004, Kido moved back to the US and pursued a graduate program in Science Counseling, with emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. Upon graduation, Kido was employed by Savio House, a local non-profit organization, for 6 years in the Child Protection program. Kido is currently employed with Arapahoe County Department of Human Services Division (DHS) as a Parenting Coach.

After living in the United States for almost 30 years, Kido became a citizen in December 2019. Kido has stayed connected to Riverton, from where her colleagues and friends hail.
